Founded in 2006, the 'Augsburg Jazz Quartett' is made up of local professional musicians renowned for their participation in other musical groups and educational endeavors. Right from the beginning, this young ensemble has succeeded to enjoy a good local reputation by playing a number of recitals aiming to introduce a wide variety of jazz styles to a large audience. Aside from original compositions, the ensemble also pays tribute to various composers, such as Tom Harrell, Billy Strayhorn or Gerry Mulligan.
